Dear Colleagues,
We have the great pleasure to invite you to the meeting organized by the Ergastirion of Systemic Thinking and Training themed “The Couple in Crisis. Therapy and Intervention”. The meeting will be held on Saturday 8th of October 2011, in Heraklion of Crete (Galaxy Hotel).
Invited speaker will be Prof. Annette Kreuz Smolinski, Clinical Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Director of the Center for the Family Therapy Fase 2 in Valencia. Mrs Kreuz is a representative of the Spanish Federation of Family Therapy in the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) and has been awarded in 2010 by the European Family Therapy Association for her international offer in the field of family therapy.
The meeting is going to last 8 hours and there will be translation in Greek. The title of the presentation will be “’Make it and Break it’ in Couple Relationships. What a Therapist Should Know to Help Couples Improve Their Relationship”. The meeting will have the form of an intensive clinical course, with theoretical and practical / experiential part, where strategies and techniques in couples’ crisis intervention will be presented.

Review The Ergastirion of Systemic Thinking and Training organized on the 8th of October 2011 a meeting “The Couple in Crisis. Therapy and Intervention”. Invited speaker of the meeting was Prof. Annette Kreuz Smolinski, Clinical Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Director of the Center for the Family Therapy Fase 2 in Valencia.
Eighty one persons participated at the meeting and were asked at the end of the day to complete an evaluation form so that it could provide feedback to the Ergastirion of Systemic Thinking and Training, whose aim is to continuously improve the services provided both to trainees and in the systemic field in general.
Below are roughly presented the data collected from the completion of the evaluation forms from the participants.
Of the 81 people who participated in the workshop evaluation form completed 42 (1 to 2 people). Of these, 2.3% were Psychiatrists, Psychologists 52.4%, the 7.14% Social workers, the 19.04% students, 9.62% teachers, while a rate of 9 5% reported other field (nursing, general medicine, etc.) The 40.47% of the participants who responded worked in the private sector, 38.10% in the public sector, 19.13% attendance at a school, while a 2.3% report employment in the private and public sectors in parallel. Years of work experience averaged 9.5 years.
As regards the organization of the conference 30.95% indicates absolute satisfaction degree, 57.15% satisfaction heavily, while a small percentage (9.52%) indicating moderate satisfaction or no answer to this question (2.38%).
Regarding the scientific program of the conference, the massive majority of people (95.24%) indicates that the choice of subject (The Couple in Crisis. Therapy & Intervention) was ‘very good’. Individuals who have completed the form evaluate the scientific content of the meeting as “very good” at a rate 83.34% as “good” in 11.9% rate as “moderate” 2.38%. Seventy three percent of people evaluate the theoretical part of the paper as ‘very good’, 14.29% as “good” and 9.53% as “moderate.” The practical / experiential part of the workshop assessed as ‘very good’ by 45.24% people as ‘good’ by 35.71% as “moderate” by 14.29%, while as “mutilated” by 2,38%. The 69.05% of respondents stated that they greatly benefited from the participation in the conference, while modestly benefit from the workshop declares the 30.95%. Total 100% of people would take part again in a corresponding scientific event.
At the end of the assessment form the participants had the opportunity to write freely their comments and feedback. From 25 observations recorded in this piece, the 44% refers to the desire of the participants to a greater emphasis on the experiential part of the workshop (more time for experiential exercises), 24% are positive comments on the speaker (transmissibility, training, etc.), 16% of the difficulty of monitoring resulting from the simultaneous translation, while 16% were several other comments.
The Ergastirion of Systemic thinking and Training is thanking everyone who took part in the seminar and contributed to its feedback for future scientific activities.
